School Term Information

  • The school operates a four-term year based on four approximately ten-week terms. Our term start and finish dates generally coincide with State School holidays. We are open for 384 half days. 
  • The school starts at 8.50 am and finishes at 3.00 pm. However, we expect to arrive from 8.30 am onwards. When the school finishes, we expect students to leave the school grounds before 3.30 pm unless they are enrolled in the After School Care programme. 
  • The last day of terms 1, 2 and 3 finishes at 2:00 pm and 1.00 pm for term 4.  

  • We encourage all parents to note the following important dates and to participate actively in all school events. Your presence encourages us and contributes to developing a robust school-parent partnership. The dates that parents must attend are in bold. Together, we can create an environment where our students thrive academically, emotionally, and spiritually for God’s glory.

Term 1 - Monday, 3 February to Friday, 11 April

  • Thursday, 30 January - Teachers Only Day 1 

  • Thursday, 6 February - Waitangi Day 

  • Friday, 7 February -  Teachers Only Day 2 

  • Thursday, 27 February - Family Picnic and Parent Orientation from 5.30-7.00 pm 

  • Friday, 14 March - Class photos

  • Tuesday, 18 March - Eye on Nature trip for Years 5 and 6

  • Friday, 14 March: Class photos and High school ID photos

  • Tuesday, 18 March: Years 5 & 6 Botanic Gardens School Activity Trip

  • Monday, 24 March: Science Road Show

  • Friday, 28 March, Athletics Day, Lloyd Ellesmere Park, Pakuranga.

  • Wednesday, 26 March: 1.00-1.30 pm, Open Day for new families wanting to enrol

  • Tuesday, 1 April: Manukau Symphony Orchestra

  • Friday, 11 April: 1.30-2.00 pm, End of Term assembly. School finishes at 2.00 pm. No After School Care. 

Term 2 - Monday 28 April to Thursday, 26 June

  • 12-16 May Parent Teacher Conferences.

  • Monday, 2 June, King's Birthday Holiday

  • Thursday, 5 June, 7.00-8.00 pm—Parent Information Evening—Panel discussion on screen time for children and the TPCS curriculum and qualifications. 

  • 16-20 June, Senior Exam Week

  • Friday, 20 June, Matariki (Public holiday)

  • Last day of term, Thursday, 26 June, 1.30 pm End of term assembly. There is no after-school care on Thursday and Friday.

  • Teachers Only Day 3- Friday, 27 June

  • Teachers Only Day 4- Saturday, 28 June

 

Term 3 - Monday 14 July to Friday 19 September

  • Saturday, 2 August, 10.00 am, TPCS Science Fair, School Hall

  • Thursday, 21 August, NIWA S.T.E.M. Fair, Sommerville Intermediate

 

Term 4 - Monday 6 October to Friday, 12 December

  • Teachers Only Day 5- Friday, 3 October

  • Working Bee, TBA

  • Friday, 5 December, 7.00 pm, Thanksgiving and Senior Prizegiving

  • Friday, 12 December: Last day. School finishes at 1.00 pm. No After School Care
