The ACS Cross Country Championships were held on Tuesday, 20th September. Organised by Hebron Christian School, the event was staged on the Mt Albert Summit course. 11 of our students registered to take part and all were successful in completing their respective courses. Our best result came in the Y5 Girls event where Esther Papuni ran an excellent race to finish a close 2nd place, well clear of the third placegetter. In the Year 6 girls event, Lisa Bracefield also ran a most creditable 4th place, only surrendering 3rd place in the dying stages of her race.
This morning Mr Asif Mall from Release International, the UK based arm of Voice of the Martyrs addressed the Y7-13 students, bringing a presentation on life as a Christian in the land of Pakistan today. He included his own testimony of faith in Christ and highlighted the plight of many who are being wrongly imprisoned and terribly persecuted for their faith in Christ and witness for Him. It was followed by a Q & A session with students and staff.
He was accompanied by Mr Graham Gallen and Miss Fran Monaghan representing Voice of the Martyrs NZ.
A team of 4 Y8 students, comprising Nathan Vu, Nila Narayanan, Abishek Bhandari and Charlie Jaswal, recently competed against a number of schools from South Auckland in the tournament mentioned above. They did extremely well and placed 3rd overall. Well done Team Tyndale!! Here are some pictures from the day, showing the team members hard at work during the tournament and with their hard-earned Certificates.
Work is now complete on our new basketball courts, with the final installation of the basketball hoops and backboards. The new equipment is much more robust than the previous hoops and boards - so we are hopeful it will last even longer than the previous ones! A BIG 'Thank you' to Phil Brinkman, Eric Muir and Andrew Peterson for their hard work in designing and installing them. I'm sure the new equipment will be much used and appreciated by all!
