Supporting your child online

Wednesday, 25 Mar 2020

Dear parents, the teachers will be in touch today with important information you and your child(ren) need to prepare for the online learning support that will start in a few weeks. First, I need to clarify a few things.

After the Prime Minister’s announcement on Monday afternoon, the Ministry of Education has clarified her comments about school holidays being moved forward. Unfortunately, this clarification was sent after I already sent you Tyndale Park Christian School’s response to the announcement. In order to be in alignment with what is happening nationally, I am making the following changes to my previous announcement:

- The school holiday will be from Tuesday 24 March to Monday 13 April. The school will resume with online learning support from Tuesday 14 April.

- Parents will realise that the school holiday is now 4 working days longer than usual. We are going to “catch up” those days by cancelling the planned mid-term break in Term 3, which was going to include the Friday of Week 5 and the Monday of Week 6 in Term 3, and we will extend the school year to Friday 18 December instead of finishing school on Wednesday 16 December.

- Teachers have been at school the past two days, Tuesday 24 March and Wednesday 25 March, preparing for the online learning support that we will offer in a few weeks. Please ensure that you respond to the email that your child(ren)'s teacher will send. It is essential that we have a dependable way to stay in touch with you.

The teachers and I are excited to continue to partner with you for your child(ren)'s education. We are praying for you and trusting that the Lord will take care of you and your family in the next few weeks.

Please download our school app. It is called Skool Loop and can be downloaded from your phone's app store:
